TAKING HERBAL TINCTURES

Tinctures are a very handy way of taking herbs as they can be easily carried around in pockets or a handbag and taken as drops straight on the tongue or in a small amount of water or fruit juice. The average amount of alcohol in a tincture is 45% some people may not want to take the small amount of alcohol in any dose, so we suggest that the drops are added to a glass of boiling water. This will evaporate some of the alcohol. The mixture can then be taken warm or cold after about 5 minutes. Dose is very individual, however the average adult dose would be 1/2 to 1 teaspoon (5ml) of tincture 3 x daily taken in water or juice. The herbs are absorbed in about 15 minutes and generally go to the required area shortly afterwards, taking a little longer to go into the colon). Remember that all tinctures should be complemented with a healthy diet, herb teas and a healthy lifestyle for optimum results.
Using herbs and other natural methods is the greatest way to enhance health and to safely prevent illness. Taking responsibility for our own health is the greatest step for any healing and a great way to change the world for the better.

DETOXIFICATION

Botanical Health is the leading detoxification specialists creating potent clinically useful programs for cleansing the body, which has been designed by Master Herbalist Philip Weeks.

WHAT IS DETOXIFICATION?
Natural practitioners over the centuries have understood that your body's ability to eliminate waste is the key to good health, vitality and good energy levels.
Detoxification is the process of encouraging your organ systems to excrete potentially harmful chemicals that appear within the body.
This can be harmful substances such as: lead, mercury, additives, dyes, hormones, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and petrochemicals and all sorts of pollutants from the air, water and food supply that we ingest. The body naturally accumulates toxins as a result of normal metabolism, all of these unwanted substances can sometimes get too much for the body and it fails to detoxify properly. This can give rise to all types of problems such as fatigue, bowel and digestive problems, headaches and an array of many symptoms and diseases. In all forms of traditional medicine such as Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine use detoxification as a method of improving health through herbs and diet.
